A LITTLE PREP. BETTER RESULTS.
Tips for easy use
Clean shapes, clear details and less sticking. Here’s how to get the best from your cutters and embossers.
01 / A LITTLE PREP
Set yourself up for an easy press
Roll evenly
An even thickness helps you get consistent shapes and clear impressions.
Dust lightly
Use a little flour for cookie dough, or cornflour for fondant. Dust your tool before each press and tap off any excess so it doesn’t fill the finer details.
Keep dough cool
Using a design suitable for cookie dough? Pop your dough in the fridge if it becomes soft or sticky.
02 / READY TO GO
Press evenly.
Lift straight up.
- Work on a flat, stable surface.
- Press evenly, then lift straight up without twisting or rocking.
- Gently clear any build-up between presses with a soft brush.
Separate cutter and embosser? Emboss first, then cut around the design.
LET’S SORT IT OUT
Having trouble?
A few small adjustments can make things easier. Pick what’s happening below.
Dough or fondant sticking?
Lightly dust your tool again, paying attention to the finer details. If you’re using cookie dough, check that the design is suitable for dough and chill it if needed.
Details looking faint?
Check your rolling thickness and apply even pressure. Make sure excess flour or cornflour hasn’t filled the details.
Shapes stretching when you lift them?
Lift carefully and avoid pulling. Cookie dough may need chilling again; fondant may benefit from a brief rest before moving.
Build-up between shapes on a multi-cutter?
Gently clear it before continuing, then lightly dust those areas again. Avoid digging into the tool with sharp objects.
READY FOR NEXT TIME
A little care goes a long way
Hand wash gently in lukewarm, soapy water. Use a soft brush for the details, rinse and allow to dry.
Keep away from dishwashers, hot water and direct heat. Avoid sharp tools and abrasive cleaners.
